Why would Captive Bred seahorse be so much more than Wild Caught Seahorses?
At this point, raising seahorses is very labor intensive. They also take a long time to mature, and the volume of demand for CB is not such that economies of scale apply. A lot of the "raised" freshwater fish, like guppies, are grown in ponds in Florida. They do not require the input of time and resources that successful seahorse reproduction requires.
