Why does my macroalgae go white and die?
The plant can suddenly 'self - distruct' triggering it to suddenly to go white and die, releasing toxins and nutrients into the tank water, this is mainly caused by the plant being moved, poor water quality, or the plant hasnt been harvested or pinched back so it grows too old. This can also be when the plant 'goes sexual': This is a problem for water quality. You need to trim back the plant regularly, and keep the water quality at an acceptable standard.
