Cysts and Tumors

Lymphocystis is a chronic, usually non-fatal, viral disease caused by Iridovirus. Clinically, fish will present with white dots that are mainly observed on the fins and occasionally the gills. Some believe the disease can lay latent only to emerge in times of stress or when poor water conditions are present. The condition is usually self-limiting and refractory to treatment.
