Description: Small head and snout. Coronet is low and round and may have fleshy appendages (cirri). Trunk is wide with poorly defined trunk rings. Spines are absent or reduced to tubercules; tubercules on the 4th, 7th and 11th trunk ring are enlarged. Anal fin is absent23.. Single gill opening situated on the neck ridge. Pale yellow, white with white markings. Markings may be outlined by thin red lines. Dorsal fin is located on a triangular hump on the back.
