What is cured live rock?
When Live Rock is brought from the ocean to you, it is usually exposed to air for a period of time, causing much of the life that is growing on it to die off. The process of curing is allowing that die off to decompose and be consumed by bacteria so that the waste from the decomposition doesn't poison aquarium inhabitants. Some people intentionally encourage this die off to keep problem animals and plants from grown on the rock, so only beneficial bacteria survives. Its this process of cycling either the intentional or unintential die off of life that is the curing process. Cured rock should be safe from any die off, as long as its not removed from water for a prolonged period of time.
