How did the seahorse get its name?
The name "seahorse" is probably not all that mysterious. A seahorse's head looks a little like a real horse's head. Seahorses are definately fish, though it's easy to see how early scientists could have been confused. Seahorses have been mistakenly identified as insects, shellfish and even amphibians!
